2016 Skoda Superb is poles apart from its already impressive predecessor
Skoda has been always considered a premium brand in India ever since it came to India. Meanwhile, the perception around the world for the brand Skoda is of a quality car maker who makes small and bikes cars. Ever since Volkswagen took over, the mechanicals were shared, but the VW allows the freedom to mess around with their own ideas on the car. Skoda has been known to be simply clever and has unique features in its our cars. Despite all that, Skoda did not make it large in India except for one car that brings in the money, the Skoda Superb.
The 2016 Skoda Superb has been spied in Aurangabad this time, far away from its factory. The 2016 Superb has been caught doing testing without any camouflage and as we have seen at the unveil, the car now looks sharper, stronger and has undeniably huge presence. Unveiled in Europe a couple of months back, Superb has a lot of lying on its back. The design and mechanicals have been completely revised.
The 2016 Skoda Superb is longer, wider and has a long wheelbase as well. The car is also around 100 kgs lighter than before. Needless to say the quality has improved even more than before and is even more spacious than before. The boot space remains carnivorous and its more efficient and will be better at handling as well.

The 2016 Skoda Superb is all set to get two engine options in India. 1.8 litre petrol engine that will produce 170 BHP and 250 Nm of torque and that will paired to a 7-speed DSG box. The diesel is the sales chart hero and will now get 160-170 BHP and 320 Nm of torque and that will be combined with a 6 or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
The power will put down via the front wheels which will have 16-inch wheels standard. Expect the pricing to start around 19-20 lakh mark and the 2016 Skoda Superb will be yet again the segment leader as the Japanese continue to loose only because of not putting a diesel engine in their highly acclaimed and award winning saloons.
