SsangYong Tivoli spied testing; made its domestic debut at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo

SsangYong Tivoli was showcased at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. The South Korean SUV will be the automaker’s first model in India under Mahindra’s ownership. The automaker is planning to launch the car later this year and a test mule has been spotted on Indian roads.

The Tivoli comes as a stylish compact SUV, which features a sharp design. The car sports large wrap around headlamps with pearl string like LED daytime running lights integrated in them. The front grille looks sleek, while the front bumper sports a massive look. At the lower front fascia the Tivoli gets rectangular shaped fog lamps positioned in a bit unusual manner, while the air intake looks big.

The car also sports floating roof design, alloy wheels, side body cladding, side turning indicator integrated ORVMs and roof rails. The rear feature wrap around taillamps with L shaped LED units in them. The roof spoiler features stop lamp in it. So far, the entire car looks quite stylish and sporty.

Not only the exterior, but the interior also dons an impressive look. The interior of the SsangYong Tivoli features an upmarket appearance. It is equipped with a heated multifunction steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console. The driver seat comes with ventilating function. Apart from that the rear occupants gets luxury treatment with heated seats.

Power source for the SsangYong Tivoli include both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will get a 1.6 litre engine churning out 128 PS of peak power and 160 Nm of peak torque. On the diesel front Tivoli will come with a 1.6 litre engine generating 115 PS of peak power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic gearbox.

The car will be equipped with safety features like ESP, tyre pressure monitoring system etc. Once launched, this car will compete against very popular Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Nissan Terrano in India. Expect the pricing to be around Rs. 9 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh (ex showroom).
