Yamaha introduced three new colour options and graphics for R15 Version 3.0 in Indonesia, likely India bound
Yamaha launched three new colours for the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 in Indonesia and they are Racing Blue, Racing Yellow and Racing Black. The Racing Blue colour comes with a dark grey finish in the middle of the fairing, red colour for the Racing Black colour and light grey for the Racing Yellow along with new graphics also.
Apart from the new colour and graphics options, Yamaha hasn’t made any other changes for the R15 Version 3.0. The India-spec R15 V3 misses out on golden finished upside down forks, which increases the sporty look but the Indonesian version doesn’t come with dual-channel ABS braking system, not even as an option.
Yamaha also offers few accessories with R15 Version 3.0 in Indonesia, which includes smartphone charger, tank pad, skid plate, frame slider, seat cover and Daytona exhaust muffler but it can be used only on track as exhaust note is louder and it improves performance slightly compared to the regular model.
We can expect Yamaha to introduce these colour options in India also as the Moto GP edition of R15 Version 3.0 has been very well received by customers. Currently, Yamaha offers three colour options for R15 in India – Thunder Grey, Darknight and Racing Blue (this colour is slightly different from Indonesia colour as it misses out on graphics).
The R15 Version 3.0 is powered by a new 155 cc single cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection and Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system. This engine produces 19.3 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the performance bike come with slipper clutch also.
The braking duties are taken care of by 282 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear. Yamaha has given telescopic forks at the front and mono-suspension at the rear, which is tuned for sporty handling. The performance bike gets 17-inch wheels with 100/80 section tyre at the front and 140/70 section tyre at the rear.
