Jawa will be introducing a Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Himalayan rival on 15th of November

Jawa has been continuously teasing their upcoming motorcycles for quite some time now and their official launch will happen on 15th of November. There is no doubt in the fact that Jawa is definitely eyeing to grab market share of Royal Enfield and will also be launching retro-styled motorcycle for which RE has always been known for.

For those of you who are still unaware of the fact Jawa is a Czech motorcycle maker who dominated the Indian market after their introduction back in the 1950’s. Jawa stopped production of their motorcycle back in 1996 but in 2016 Mahindra and Mahindra through its subsidiary Classic Legends Pvt limited signed a deal to relaunch the Jawa brand in India.

Jawa will be introducing a total of three new motorcycles although they haven’t made any official announcements yet but thanks to our spy photographers and active Indian Media we have plenty of details about the brand now. The legendary motorcycle manufacturer is targeting the Royal Enfield Motorcycles directly with their new products.

The first motorcycle which Jawa is planning to launch on 15th Of November is a 300 cc retro styled Roadster which will be a direct rival to RE’s Classic 350. Just like Classic 350, this motorcycle too gets retro styling and most of its parts are also made out of Metal which has definitely been one of the plus points of RE motorcycles that sets them apart from the rest.

The other Jawa motorcycle which was spied recently is an Adventure Tourer which will challenge the RE Himalayan directly. To be quite honest RE Himalayan definitely is the most affordable purpose oriented Adventure Tourer that we have in the Indian market today. Now if Jawa introduces an adventure Tourer within the same price range then it will also give a worthy fight to the Himalayan.

Both the motorcycles will most probably be powered by the same 293cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine based on the Mahindra Mojo’s unit. The engine produces a maximum of 27 PS and a peak torque of 28 Nm on the upcoming Jawa 300 while it will be made available in a different state of tune on their upcoming Adventure Tourer.

Now that Jawa has caught the attention of their rival what they really need to work on is their build quality which RE is not exactly known for. Jawa also needs to spread their dealerships network across the Country to reach out to more customers and also improve their after sales service for (which Mahindra is not exactly famous for) to give RE proper competition.
