New Volvo V90 Cross Country Ocean Race Is Truly Environment Friendly

Volvo used recycled materials to build seats and interior materials of V90 Cross Country Ocean Race; claims it an attempt to save seas

Volvo has launched an all-new V90 Cross Country Ocean Race limited edition model that promises to be an environment friendly car with the extensive usage of recycled materials inside its cabin. As the Swedish luxury car manufacturer claims, this car has been built as an attempt to save the seas from pollution. The car is already available for booking at $60,500 in USA.

This special edition V90 Cross Country celebrates the beginning of the 2017-2018 Volvo Ocean Race, the brand sponsored yacht racing series. As the auto manufacturer claims, this special edition estate will help to tackle the alarming problem of marine pollution. The floor mats used in this V90 Cross Country Ocean Race is built from Econyl, a fabric made of 100% recycled nylon. Volvo has used the nylon from abandoned fishing nets collected from sea floor.

The Volvo V90 cross Country Ocean race comes wearing Crystal White paint scheme. It gets a special mesh front grille, Ocean Race branded décor. It runs on five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels, while 21-inch alloy wheels are also on offer. Interior of this car is painted in matte grey with bright orange accents at different places. The special edition luxury estate also receives special stitching on seats and upholstery and illuminated sill molding.

This special edition Volvo V90 Cross Country Ocean Race comes drawing inspiration from the Concept XC Coupe. Power source for the car is a 2.0-litre turbo and supercharged engine that is capable of churning out 316 hp of peak power. Volvo says that it will spend $116 for each of this limited edition model to save the environment.

This car will be manufactured in a limited number 3,000 units and it will be sold in select 30 countries across the world that includes USA, European and African countries along with China, Japan and select Middle-East markets. However, at later stage Volvo may produce more units of this car, considering the demand.
