Volkswagen offering 10 percent discount on several models including Polo, Ameo and Vento to celebrate its 10th anniversary in the Indian market

Volkswagen India is offering 10% discount on models like Polo, Ameo and Vento to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary in the country. The Polo and Ameo are two of the bestselling and most popular models from the company in the domestic market and with this discount, the sales of these cars are expected to get a boost.

Volkswagen launched the Ameo compact sedan last year. This is the first made-in-India and made-for-India compact sedan from the German automaker. In very short span, the compact sedan has garnered attention of the customers. Despite tough competitions from established and popular rivals like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Accent and Ford Aspire, the Ameo has managed to become a value for money product with price ranging between Rs. 5.45 lakh and Rs. 9.62 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

In its 10 years of presence in the country, Volkswagen has been able to earn the premium car brand here. Now it aims to become the most affordable premium car brand of the Indian market. In an attempt to be that, the company is preparing for higher localised production and it also plans to launch a slew of exciting new models here.

The Tiguan and Passat are two models ready to be launched in the domestic market soon and with these cars, Volkswagen will be able to strengthen its presence in the SUV and premium sedan segment. The company has been exploring the possibility to create greater impact with its products blending the fine German engineering with Indian touch. Ameo is a perfect product came out of that strategy.

Interestingly, Volkswagen India has registered an impressive 58% sales growth in February 2017. The company sold 3,965 units compared to 2,510 units in the same month last year. The sales record was dominated by the Ameo compact sedan. This result also marked the highest YoY sales growth for any manufacturer in the country in February this year.
