VinFast will establish more than 50 electric two-wheeler showrooms across 34 cities with charging infrastructure and aftersales support planned alongside its retail network

VinFast has signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with more than 50 dealership partners to establish its first electric two-wheeler retail network in India. The Vietnamese manufacturer has identified 34 cities across 15 states and territories for the proposed showrooms, extending its Indian operations into the electric motorcycle and scooter segments. The agreements were signed on October 8, 2026, at the company’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, during a visit by its Indian dealership partners.

The announcement comes after VinFast entered India’s electric passenger vehicle market in 2025, with operations covering vehicle distribution, manufacturing and assembly. The company now intends to establish a separate dealership network for its electric two-wheelers instead of relying exclusively on its existing passenger car operations. The initial agreements cover more than 50 proposed outlets, with the manufacturer and its Indian partners responsible for establishing the retail facilities.

The domestic two-wheeler market recorded 2.14 crore registrations during the 2025-26 financial year, according to figures cited by VinFast. Electric two-wheelers accounted for 6.54 per cent of the total, leaving petrol-powered motorcycles and scooters with a substantial share of registrations. The figures provide context for VinFast’s decision to enter India’s electric two-wheeler category, where manufacturers compete across different price segments and vehicle types.

The company’s dealership locations extend from northern India to the southern states, with Delhi NCR, Punjab and Rajasthan included in the initial network. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are among the central markets, alongside Maharashtra and Gujarat in western India. The southern network covers Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. VinFast has also selected West Bengal and Odisha for its eastern operations.

Anurag Saxena, CEO of VinFast India E-Scooters, said, “Partnering with more than 50 dealer partners across 15 states and territories and 34 cities marks the beginning of our journey to bring VinFast e-motorcycles across India. Alongside, we are also building charging infrastructure and strengthening after-sales services to ensure that customers across these locations receive the support they need throughout their ownership journey.”

The signing ceremony took place during a programme organised for VinFast’s prospective Indian dealers at its Vietnamese manufacturing facility. The visiting delegation inspected the company’s production operations and examined its electric two-wheeler portfolio. The programme also gave the partners an opportunity to assess the manufacturer’s production standards and its existing electric motorcycle business in Vietnam ahead of their planned retail operations in India.

The LOIs establish the initial framework for VinFast’s electric two-wheeler dealership expansion, but the agreements do not indicate that the proposed outlets have commenced operations. The company plans to develop the network with its local partners, supported by charging facilities and aftersales services. The Indian two-wheeler business will operate alongside VinFast’s existing electric passenger vehicle activities as the manufacturer expands into another segment of the domestic automotive market.
