Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Rendered In Sporty Avatar

The rendering goes well with the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s design as it has become sportier than ever

After the Ciaz facelift’s arrival in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has its next big launch lined up as the Ertiga is receiving a brand new generation. Having debuted at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) this past April, the 2018 Ertiga has been positively received among customers and is entering India in the coming months.

The revised exterior will play a key role in the seven-seater MPV’s success and is dimensionally bigger than its predecessor while being based on a new Heartect platform ensuring lightness and additional rigidity for enhanced safety. Moreover, there is a brand new rival to tackle in the form of Mahindra Marazzo that currently targets the top-end variants of the Ertiga.

While the Marazzo gets a range of customisation packages, this sporty rendering of the Ertiga may give you some idea of how the new generation model be handled aftermarket. With twin slat horizontal front grille, bolder bumper with larger air dam and new set of alloy wheels, the digitally imagined Ertiga should have a good road presence for a family hauler.

The new Ertiga measures 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider and stands 5 mm taller with the same wheelbase of 2,740 mm compared to the outgoing model while sacrificing 32-litre bootspace and 5 mm ground clearance. When we pit it against the Marazzo, which even has wheelbase longer than Toyota Innova Crysta, the Ertiga falls short as it appeals for buyers right from Rs. 6.7 lakh (ex-showroom).

The upcoming MPV could get a brand new petrol powertrain that debuted in the facelifted Ciaz. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, K15B is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 105 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of peak torque delivered at 4,400 rpm, and is mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

The interior is another area of improvement Suzuki has concentrated on with the new Ertiga and it become more premium than ever courtesy of flat-bottom steering wheel, faux-wooden accents, dual-tone theme, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity in the top-ends, push button start/stop, cruise control, etc.
