The interior of the Hyundai Creta EV appears to be heavily influenced by the latest Creta ICE; could have a range of around 500 km

The road testing for the electric Hyundai Creta has been observed on public roads multiple times, indicating that the midsize electric SUV derived from the facelifted ICE Creta could hit the market before the end of this year or in early 2025. It will enter a competitive space with rivals like the Tata Curvv, Maruti Suzuki eVX, its Toyota equivalent, Citroen Basalt EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, and potentially the upcoming EV based on the next-generation Duster.

Recent spy images reveal the interior of the Hyundai Creta EV, showcasing a dual-screen setup – one for the instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system, resembling the layout in the latest Creta. A unique aspect is the redesigned steering wheel, featuring a new emblem seen in Hyundai’s international electric vehicles, with the drive mode selector mounted on the steering column.

Some of the top-notch features expected onboard are ventilated front seats, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, automatic climate control, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), six airbags as standard, connective tech, a cooled glovebox, a layered dashboard, adjustable headrests, a dual-pane sunroof and several other safety features and technologies.

The spy images of the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV also hint at a closed-off front grille section, redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new alloy wheel design, a front charging port, and headlamps and tail lamps resembling those on the IC-engined Creta. Although detailed technical specifications have not been released, the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to offer an estimated driving range of around 450-500 km between charges.

Fast charging will be supported, and there is potential for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, though this hasn’t been confirmed. Reports suggest that the Hyundai Creta EV could offer both single and dual electric motor configurations to meet a variety of market needs and it could be shipped to global markets as well. It is possible that the electric motor could be sourced from the base variant of the Kona Electric.
