Indian automotive Industry is one of the fastest growing in the world and the number of launches each year are increasing, which is good for customers as they are getting more options and pricing is also competitive. 1. Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai commenced development of new generation Grand i10 last year and the model has been spotted in Indian roads so many times. The new model gets an all-new design theme as the front comes with the signature grille of Hyundai along with new headlamps and an updated bumper. The side design is similar to the current model but the alloy wheels get a new design. The interior is completely new as it took inspirations from new generation Hyundai models and quality is likely to improve.

The Grand i10 will be loaded with lots of features like new touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, reverse camera, rear AC vents, electronically controlled exterior mirrors and more.

The hatchback is expected to be powered by 1.2 L petrol engine with manual and auto gearbox as diesel might not be offered. The new model will be introduced during the festive season of this year in India.

2. Hyundai QXi

Hyundai is finally going to enter the compact SUV segment in India with a new model and it is codenamed as QXi. The new model will be built on Grand i10 platform and the design is expected to take inspirations from new generation Hyundai models like Santa Fe and Kona as the front might get split headlamps set up with signature grille and a new bumper.

The QXi will also debut the new 1.0 L turbocharged petrol engine in India along with 1.2 L petrol and 1.4 L diesel engine with dual-clutch automatic and manual gearbox options. It will enter the Indian market in mid-May.

3. Mahindra TUV 300 facelift

Mahindra TUV 300 facelift model is expected to be introduced in India later this year. The compact SUV will get some exterior changes like new front grille with updated headlamps and LED DRLs. The front bumper is also new and the company has given new alloy wheels while the rear gets clear lens type tail lamp.

The updated model also gets a new design for spare wheel mounted at the rear. The interior changes are subtle as it will be limited to new colour options and we can expect some new features like a new touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto, climate control and more. The engine is expected to be the same unit from the current model.

4. Mahindra Thar

Mahindra is developing a new generation of Thar and it is likely to be launched later this year in India. The overall design theme of new Thar will be similar to the current model as it is one of the USP of the SUV. The company has increased overall dimensions as the front get new grille along with redesigned bumper and headlamps.

The side also gets minor changes along with new rear bumper and tail lamps. Some reports have indicated that Mahindra will give a new platform for the Thar and the interior is expected to get some modern features with better quality. The company will also pack the SUV with lots of safety features as standard and it is likely to be powered by a new 2.2 L diesel engine with manual gearbox.

5. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift

Mahindra is expected to launch facelift version of Vitara Brezza soon in India as the company has already commenced production of the compact SUV at its plant. The facelift model gets minor exterior changes like a new front bumper along with LED projector headlamps and tweaked grille. The company has also added a hood scoop. The only change on the side is new alloy wheels.

6. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross

Maruti Suzuki is going to introduce a new premium version of Ertiga and it is expected to be named as Cross model, which will be sold through Nexa premium dealerships instead of the regular Arena. 7. Tata Altroz

Tata Motors officially revealed the Altroz premium hatchback at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. The Altroz is based on the new ALFA modular platform, which will be the base for models under 4.2 meters in length, which will help the company to reduce cost. The production model is expected to be introduced in H2 2019.

The interior is likely to take inspirations from the Nexon and Harrier as the instrument cluster gets a big display, which gives lots of information about the hatchback. 9. Renault RBC

10. Datsun MPV

Datsun might be working on a new small MPV, which is based on the Renault RBC model and it will be based on the same CMF-A platform as it is designed to keep cost low. The upcoming model might come with a new design theme compared to Renault’s version but the company hasn’t revealed more details.

The interior is also expected to continue the pattern of other Datsun models as it will come with hard plastic along with some features like touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera with parking sensors and more. The MPV is expected to be powered by the same engine from RBC.
