382018 TVS Apache RTR 160

TVS has been attempting to increase its market share in the Indian two-wheeler market with some fresh exciting products and facelift versions of already popular models. In this bid, one of the upcoming models is going to be the ne Apache RTR 160 facelift. This bike is expected to be unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo and it will certainly reenergize the sales of the 160 cc bike.

The new Apache RTR 160 will arrive drawing inspiration from TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. In comparison with the current model, the facelifted version has become sharper, stylish and much more appearing. Bringing this facelift model will help TVS to strengthen its position in the segment where other brands offer products like Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and Honda CB Hornet 160.

Speaking about its styling, the 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160 retains the basic silhouette of the current model, but receives subtle design tweaks as well. It gets large headlamp with LED daytime running light, fully digital instrument cluster, a sculpted and muscular looking 16-litre capacity fuel tank. Seats have been updated with better cushioning ensuring better comfort for the rider and pillion rider. Apart from that, LED taillight and chunky exhaust are other features that come similar as its bigger sibling.


Expect the new TVS Apache RTR 160 to get new matte and bi-colour body paint options with fresh body decal. It could come running on slimmer tyres. On the engine front, it will continue drawing energy from the same 160 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine coupled with a 5-speed transmission. Expect the engine to generate more power and torque output compared to the current model.

In the present Apache RTR 160, this engine kicks out 15 bhp of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 13 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. Also, expect this engine to return better mileage as well. Braking and suspension set up will remain same as the current model. Speaking about its pricing, TVS will certainly keep the price tag competitive against rivals and it could arrive available at Rs. 80,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
