UM’s new 230 cc single-cylinder engine is capable of kicking out 19 bhp power output
UM Motorcycles is gearing up to unveil a new cruiser at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo. This motorcycle will come powered by a new 230 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is capable of churning out 19 bhp of peak power. The motorcycle manufacturer is aiming to increase its sales volume in the domestic market with its attractive product range and this 230 cc cruiser could play key role in that strategy.
This motorcycle will arrive sharing several body parts with the present Renegade range. The company currently sells four different models in Indian market that are Renegade Sports S, Renegade Commando, renegade Mojave and Renegade Classic. All these models come powered by a 280 cc liquid-cooled engine that is capable of pumping out 25 bhp of peak power and 23 Nm of peak torque.

UM Motorcycles has been targeting to compete with Royal Enfield for quite some time and this new motorcycle will arrive strengthening the brand’s presence in the sub-350 cc category. Expect this motorcycle to throw tough challenge to the Royal Enfield Classic 350 that has been one of the bestselling models from the homegrown brand in domestic market.
Speaking about the design of the upcoming 230 cc UM cruiser, this motorcycle is likely to carry similar design as the other Renegade models. It could get large headlamp, a compact windshield, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster and a chunky fuel tank not only enhancing the motorcycle’s masculinity, but ensuring a long running range as well.

There would be a low positioned rider seat offering the rider great control over the machine and comfortable sitting experience as well. A split pillion rider seat will be there as well. A pillion backrest would enhance comfort and style further Expect the motorcycle to get LED taillight.
For braking duty, this motorcycle would arrive equipped with disc brakes on both wheels and it would run on black alloy wheels. Expect the suspension set up to be shared with other Renegade models. UM Motorcycles will surely keep its pricing competitive in order to attract the buyers.
