TVS has officially rolled out 50,000th unit of BMW 310 cc series from its Hosur plant and the 310 cc platform now includes a total of 3 bikes

TVS and BMW Motorrad announced their new partnership in April 2013 in which the German manufacturer would develop sub-500 cc products and TVS would manufacturer these products in India. The first product from this joint venture was G310 R and this 310 cc series platform currently has two more products now – BMW G310 GS and TVS Apache RR 310.

TVS has officially announced today that the company has rolled out 50,000 units of the BMW 310cc motorcycles. The manufacturing of G310 R and G310 GS began in 2016 and export of both these products commenced in December 2016. Currently, BMW is offering these entry-level performance bikes in more than 90 countries.

Even though G310R and GS share some components with Apache, the quality along with fit and finish of these products are par among with other premium products of BMW Motorrad. The German manufacturer launched the much awaited G310 twins earlier this year in India and pricing is on the premium end.

BMW has given importance for global markets, which is why the company took so long to introduce them here. The company is not looking for huge volumes as they want to maintain the premium brand image. The demand for both these motorcycles are really good and the service cost is also really high.

The 313 cc single cylinder electronic fuel injected engine produces 33 bhp of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a same 6-speed gearbox. The braking duties are done by 300 mm disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear, dual channel ABS system is offered as standard in both these bikes.

The G310 twins come with telescopic front suspension and mono shocks at the rear, but the GS has slightly larger travel compared to its naked sibling. Both of them get a 19-inch front wheel with 110/80 section tyre and 17-inch wheel at rear with 150/70 section tyre but the GS comes with all-terrain tyres. The G310 R is priced at Rs. 2.99 lakh and Rs. 3.59 lakh is quoted for G310 GS (both, Ex-Showroom).
