TVS Apache RTR 160 4V launched in Columbia and the company introduced the fuel injected variant with 16.8 PS of power and 14.8 Nm of torque
TVS launched the new Apache RTR 160 4V in Columbia at 61,90,000 Pesos, which is around Rs. 1.34 lakh. The Apache RTR 160 4V made its India debut last year and it is one of the best selling models of the Apache series in India. The company has recently updated the model with single-channel ABS braking system to meet the new rule.
The Apache RTR 160 4V design took inspirations from its big brother 200 4V as the front get the same headlamp with LED DRLs. The fuel tank design is also similar to the 200 and the rear gets LED tail lamp. But the entry-level performance bike gets single piece seat instead of the split seat and it misses out on clip-on-handle bar compared to Apache RTR 200 4V.
But TVS has given fully digital instrument cluster with orange backlight and it comes with lots of information like gear shift indicator, time, dual trip meter, odometer, tachometer and speedometer. The exhaust design also comes from the Apache RTR 200 and it is sold in Columbia via AKP Motors.
TVS is offering the Apache RTR 160 4V is three colour options in Columbia and they are Metallic Blue, Racing Red and Knight Black. All these three colours are also available in Indian market. The performance bike is powered by 159.7 cc single cylinder with fuel injection and it produces 16.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
The company is currently not offering the carburettor variant in Columbia and it gets same 5-speed gearbox. 0-60 kph in just 4.73 sec and top speed of the new model is 114 kph. The braking performance comes from 270 mm disc at the front and 230 mm disc at the rear. In India, the 160 4V also gets the option of rear drum brakes.
The Apache RTR 160 4V gets telescopic forks at the front and mono-suspension at the rear as it is the third bike from Apache series to get this. The handling of Apache RTR 160 4V is excellent as it continues the legacy of its predecessors. The company has given 17-inch wheels with 90/90 section tyre at the front and 130/70 section tyre at the rear.
