The most affordable Triumph offerings in India, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, get custom colours at the dealership level
Triumph has managed to garner a lot of attention in the Indian market, courtesy of its latest affordable launches, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. Currently, both the entry-level Triumph motorcycles are available in three colour options. In order to add some variety to the package, a Pune-based Triumph dealership is offering custom paint schemes for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X.
The custom colour choices will set you back by an extra Rs. 15,000. Some of the highlighted colour choices include a Radiant Yellow, Pure White, Silver and a combination of Black-Red colours. Amongst these, the Yellow paint scheme is the highlight which is going well with the bike’s Golden USD forks.
It is important to note that this custom paint’s application is limited to fuel tank, possibly due to technical limitations at the dealership level. Painting child parts with precision is a very tedious task, requiring expert workmanship which may not be possible at the dealership. Usually, factory paint covers all the major parts of a motorcycle including the tank, side panels and tank extensions paired to a combination with wheels, main frame and more.
Apart from this, we can say that the new paint options introduced by the dealership are in sync with the motorcycle’s overall stance and these can be a good option for the young buyers who are looking to add a personal touch to their motorcycle. However, we can’t vouch for the quality and longevity of the paint as it can’t match the factory-level finish which is backed by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Moreover, the dealership is also offering two different graphic options which include a regular Triumph logo and the other one with the addition of two contrast strips running vertically. This will further enhance the overall choices available for the customers.
Talking about the legal formalities, the bike will be initially registered with the factory colour option at the RTO. Based on the custom colour choice, the dealership will aid the customers in the documentation process related to colour change in the Registration Certificate (RC) and all the costs related to the RTO process will be borne by the customer.
