Triumph Bonneville T40 and T4 arrive in India with 350cc TR engine, TFT tech and classic styling

The Triumph Bonneville T40, T40 Black and T4 have been introduced in India as new lower-capacity additions to the Bonneville family. The T40 and T40 Black are priced at Rs. 2,79,999, and the T4 costs Rs. 2,54,999 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The online bookings open on October 7 at 4:30 pm, and T40 deliveries will start from the second week of November 2026. The T4 will reach customers from the second week of January 2027.

The three motorcycles get a new 350cc TR Series engine tuned specifically for the Bonneville line. The single-cylinder motor develops 29 PS at 7,000 rpm and 31 Nm at 5,500 rpm, and Triumph says the tune prioritises low-end torque and relaxed power delivery. The engine is matched to a chassis aimed at easy handling as lightweight aluminium rims and a low seat height improve accessibility for newer riders.

The T40 and T40 Black sit above the T4 through their electronics package. The two motorcycles get a 4-inch circular TFT display, smartphone connectivity, navigation, phone and music controls, five ride modes, cruise control, Optimised Cornering ABS and Optimised Cornering Traction Control. The T4 gets a colour LCD, turn-by-turn navigation, ride modes and dual-channel ABS.

The styling follows traditional Bonneville cues as each motorcycle gets a sculpted teardrop tank, round headlamp, spoked wheels and twin rear shocks. The range also gets heritage-inspired two-tone paint schemes, hand-painted coach lining, a brushed peashooter silencer and classically shaped aluminium engine covers. The T40 Black adds a darker visual treatment while retaining the same core design.

The riding position has been developed around relaxed ergonomics and a low seat. The seat height can drop to 770 mm through an accessory low seat, and Triumph has paired the chassis setup with lightweight components to make low-speed manoeuvres easier. The twin-shock rear suspension and traditional proportions also keep the motorcycles visually close to larger Bonneville models.

The T40 and T40 Black place the highest level of electronics in the new trio as the TFT, five ride modes, cruise control and lean-sensitive rider aids move them above the T4 in equipment. The T4 takes a simpler route at Rs. 25,000 less and still gets navigation, ride modes and dual-channel ABS. The price gap therefore separates the two mainly through electronics and rider-assistance hardware.

The new 350cc Bonneville family gives Triumph a lower entry point below its larger modern classics while preserving key design elements such as the round headlamp, teardrop tank, twin shocks and spoked wheels. The T40 arrives first in November, and the T4 follows in January 2027 as Triumph expands its India line-up around the new 350cc TR platform.
