Registering a strong YOY growth, Toyota sold a total of 25,220 units in February 2024; Recently, the Innova Hycross achieved 50,000 sales milestone
Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has been performing consistently well in the Indian market over the past few years. With the Maruti Suzuki partnership, the Japanese carmaker managed to introduce multiple new products in the country including the Glanza, Rumion as well as the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Along with this, the launch of Innova Hycross gave a major push to the company’s sales. The month of January 2024 brought some good news for Toyota as the company registered its highest-ever monthly sales in the country standing at 24,608 units. In the latest development, it has surpassed the previous month’s record in February 2024 by registering a staggering 25,220 units sales milestone.
As reported by Toyota, the dealer dispatches in February grew by a massive 61% margin over the previous year’s 15,685 units (February 2023). For the record, these sales numbers include 23,300 domestic sales along with 1,920 units exported to international markets. As compared to January, the domestic sales numbers are up by 103 units. In addition to this, the Innova Hycross which was launched in November 2022 achieved the 50,000 sales mark.
Moreover, Toyota also revealed that it managed to sell a total of 49,829 units in January and February 2024. This is again a big jump from the 28,578 units sold in the same time period in 2023, thereby registering a growth of 74.36%. Talking about the cumulative wholesale in the domestic market, Toyota managed to dispatch 2,19,821 units with one month still left, surpassing the FY2023 sales of 1,73,245 units.
Some high-selling models like Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Glanza and Innova Hycross along with a ramped-up production capacity and a few customer-oriented initiatives are the major contributing factors to this growth.
Commenting on the sales performance, Sabari Manohar – Vice President, Sales-Service- Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motors said, “With this month recording the highest monthly sales, we continue to witness rising demand coupled with good customer enquiries from across the regions. Notably, the SUV and MUV models are at the forefront of this demand surge, with the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Fortuner, and Legender maintaining their leadership positions and significantly contributing to our growth story.
