Toyota January 2024 Sales Analysis – Innova, Fortuner, Hyryder, Glanza

Toyota recorded 23,197 units in the month of January 2024 as against 12,728 units with a massive YoY sales growth of 82.3 per cent

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded a domestic total of 23,197 units in the month of January 2024 as against 12,728 units during the same period in 2023 with a YoY positive sales surge of 82.3 per cent – the highest YoY growth in the whole industry. Compared to the previous month of December 2023 with 21,372 units, an MoM growth of 8.5 per cent was noted.

The Japanese auto major also endured the highest market share gain last month of 2.2 per cent as it secured close to 6 per cent in total. Toyota finished sixth in the overall manufacturers’ sales standings ahead of Honda, Renault, MG, VW, Nissan and Skoda and trailed Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra and Kia.

The combined sales of Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta stood at 9,400 units in January 2024 as against 1,427 units during the same period last year with a massive YoY sales increase of 559 per cent. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder finished in the second position with 5,543 units as against 4,194 units with a YoY growth of 32 per cent.

The midsize SUV is sold in petrol, CNG and strong hybrid options in an expansive range and it has several commonalities with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Glanza premium hatch posted 3,740 units last month as against 3,327 units in January 2023 with a YoY positive volume increase of 12 per cent in the domestic scene.

The Fortuner full-size SUV finished in the fourth position with 3,213 unit sales as against 3,698 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a YoY negative growth of 13 per cent. It continued to maintain its lead at the top of its segment’s sales table. The Rumion, the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, finished fifth with 639 unit sales.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid finished sixth with 312 units as against 59 units with a YoY growth of 429 units while the flagship Vellfire posted 61 units against 22 units in Jan 2023 with a YoY growth of 177 per cent.
