Austrian bike manufacturer KTM has received pretty good response within short span after its entrance in India. Thanks to its alliance with homegrown motorcycle major Bajaj Auto, KTM produces its bikes in the country. Due to the localised production, KTM is able to sell the high performance sporty bikes at a very aggressive pricing. Inspired by the success of its Duke and RC range, KTM is aiming to pump in more new products here and one of them is going to be the 390 Adventure.

This bike gets inspiration from its bigger siblings 950 Adventure, 1190 Adventure and 1290 Super Adventure. Like its other siblings, the KTM 390 Adventure too is expected to be produced locally in Bajaj’s Chakan plant in order to be priced competitively. The bike is based on the naked Duke 390 and uses the same engine as well. Test mules of this adventure bike have been spied couple of times giving us a clear view of the India-bound product. The bike is likely to arrive in the country sometime next year or in 2019.

Speaking about its design, the adventure bike appears very aggressive. It sports a high sitting mudguard, sharp LED projector headlamp, a tall windshield. There is a muscular and large capacity fuel tank that not only enhances the bike’s masculine stance, but gives the machine a good running range as well. Expect it to boast an ergonomically designed rider seat that offers comfort and great control.

The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure features a narrow tail section with sleek pillion seat and LED taillight at the back. There will be a high sitting upward facing underseat muscular looking exhaust muzzle. The underbody protector shield enhances the protection for the engine block during run through treacherous terrain. As the test mules have been spotted, it runs on multi-spoke wheels wrapped with on and off-road tyres.

For braking duty, it gets petal disk brakes on both front and rear wheels combined with ABS. Suspension duty is done by long travel suspension on both front and rear. Delivering power to the bike is the 373.2 c single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that does duty in its Duke 390 sibling. The engine is capable of churning out 44 PS of peak power and 35 Nm of peak torque.

Expected India Launch: Early 2019
Expected India Price: Rs. 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi)
