Mahindra finally came back to the MPV segment with Marazzo in September after years of hibernation as the last launch was Xylo more than a decade back. The Marazzo is a completely new product designed and developed by engineers from India and other global centres of the company. The response for the MPV has been really good and here are the 5 things you should know about the new Marazzo.
1. Platform and Dimensions
The new Marazzo is the first product developed by the North American Technical Centre and it is based on a new platform. The MPV also gets a transverse mounted engine with front-wheel drive configuration and the company has given body on frame architecture, which will improve ride quality.
The Marazzo measure 4,585 mm length, 1866 mm width, 1744 m height and wheelbase is 2760 mm while the boot space is 190 litres.
2.Design
Mahindra has given the shark-inspired design theme for the MPV as the front get a new grille and the projector headlamps are swept back with a new bumper. The mirrors are placed on the door and the side design is simple and the company has given smart looking alloy wheels. The rear gets new LED lights and an integrated spoiler also.
3. Interior and Features
The Marazzo comes with a premium design theme for the interior as the dashboard gets integrated touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto. The instrument cluster is also well laid out with a MID screen in the middle. The MPV comes with lots of features like aircraft inspired AC vents for the second and third row, climate control, airbags, ABS and more.
4. Engine
Mahindra developed a new 1.5 L diesel engine for the Marazzo and it is BSVI ready as the company need to make some software changes only to meet the new norms. This engine produces 121 hp of power at 3,500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque between 1,750 – 2,500 rpm, mated to 6-speed manual gearbox and the claimed mileage is 17.3 kmpl.
5. Price
Mahindra is offering the Marazzo is four variants – M2, M4, M6 and M8. The entry-level variant is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh and the top end variant at Rs. 13.90 lakh (all prices, Ex-Showroom). The MPV comes with the option of seven or eight seat configuration with 3 years/1,00,000 warranty.
