As always then, when it comes to sales, there are losers and gainers. The gainers end up showing significant rise in numbers when it comes to sales and hence make it to charts. Every month there is a different story because there is reason behind in the rise and fall of cars.

The cars usually face production shift, labor unrest, concentration on another product or outright discontinuation. This time, there are products which were recently launched. We have a list of what exactly happened.

Ford Endeavour

As you can see, the Endeavor came out of nowhere and scored a whopping 150x rise when it comes to sales jump. New model delivers have begun, test ride vehicles have reached dealerships and first set of customers have started getting keys to a product which is a gamer changer in the segment and for the company. Endeavour has the style, interior, performance and value moniker stuck on it and it’s ready to takes on its competition every single month. January 2015 saw 3 units while January 2016 saw 480 units.

Volkswagen Jetta

The Jetta, the premium car of the D-segment category always witness sales boost in the month of January as premium car buyers are quite conscious about new year made cars. Volkswagen makes sure too their customers get the new car and some are told to wait for their cars. The 30X increase over the YoY is clearly an indication of the same. VW retailed just 3 units in last January while 95 units retailed this January in India.

Toyota Camry

Another segment where buyers tend to buy car from the new year itself. The D+ segment is a prime witness as the highly successful new Camry shows. The hybrid version is the one which sold the most according to Toyota and we don’t doubt after driving it couple of months back. A 55% increase in sales a healthy boost as January 2015 saw 97 units while 150 units retailed in January 2016. This should continue to soar dramatically till April 2016.

Tata Indica

Last year in the same month, Tata retailed 1954 units while this January saw 2909 units which resulted in rise of sales by 49%. The Indica is back on the sales chart despite its replacement is almost here. However, the story is different as the Zica aims at the new passenger market and not the fleet market. India should continue to do the same while Zica will tend to bring more volumes to the company once launched after a new name is announced.

Maruti Celerio

celerio

Celerio was quite a worry for Maruti as the sales post diesel engine launch did not take off as expected. However, the new year is here and it has bought some sunshine to the product sales. January 2015 saw 4824 units and January 2016 saw 7141 units which resulted in rise of sales by 48%. Sales should stay high for now as most new products tend to catch up once the new year starts. Petrol and diesel are great engines to begin and Celerio being a perfect package in its segment should attract customers despite growing competition.
