Maruti Suzuki launched the all-new Dzire compact sedan just a few days ago and this car is truly all set to rein the segment as its predecessor has been doing. The new Dzire compact sedan sheds Swift badge from the nomenclature and it appears very much premium. Not only the same segment rivals, but it is also ready to throw challenge to the models like Ciaz and City that are positioned in the upper segment. The all-new Dzire has become more premium in terms of styling, comfort, features.
In terms of design, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes wearing a very flowing design thanks to its similarity with the Baleno. Also, this model shares the same HEARTECT platform with the Baleno premium hatchback. Up front, 2017 Maruti Dzire dons new design sharper headlamps with projector lamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The front grille is completely revised and it gets a larger horizontally slated grille with plenty of chrome garnishing. The front bumper too appears revised black fog lamp housing, chrome trims around them and sleek air intake as well.

At the side profile, the new Dzire wears subtle yet visible similarities with the Baleno. Therefore the flowing appearance is visible. It gets new design alloy wheels, flared wheelarches, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, body coloured door handles, blackened B pillar and sleek chrome trim at the bottom of the glass area. Moving to the rear, the new Dzire compact sedan boasts LED taillights, a wide chrome bar above the registration enclosure.
Inside the cabin, new Dzire has become completely revised looking with a new sporty and flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel with faux wooden trim, dual-pod instrument cluster with analog dials and digital MID at centre. The centre console houses a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The three-layer dashboard with faux wooden trim, dual-ton interior theme, upmarket quality seat and upholstery materials enhance the style inside cabin. Thanks to the dimensional changes, the cabin has become more spacious offering more comfort to the occupants.

It is available in both petrol and diesel engine options with both manual and AMT options for both variants. The petrol model is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series engine capable of churning out 85 PS of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm and it returns 22 kmpl of fuel efficiency. The diesel model on the other hand is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS engine capable of pumping out 75 PS of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of peak torque at 2,000 rpm along with 28.4 kmpl of fuel efficiency.
