The Yamaha RX135 has been given a new Café Racer Theme makeover by Pune based Kirex Moto Customs and it is christened as Diablo
Yamaha is known for its performance bikes like RX100, RX135, RD350 and the list goes on. Most of these bikes were discontinued in India due to emission norms as they were powered by 2 stroke engines. But fan following of these bikes are still good in India and we have already featured couple of modifications on RX100.
In this article, it is the RX135 which has been given a new Café Racer Theme makeover by Pune based Kirex Moto Customs and is christened as Diablo. Most of the parts are custom made for the project and at front, the stock headlamp has been retained but the fender is completely new.
The Diablo comes with telescopic front suspension and wheels are custom-made with 36 spokes for high speed stability. The fuel tank is also custom made for Diablo along with new handle bar which gives the impression of clip on handle bar and mirrors are placed on the end of it. The custom shop hasn’t given indicators at front.
The stock instrument cluster has been replaced by single pod cluster with speedometer and odometer in it. The custom shop has given new seat with a cushioned back rest which will help the rider in long journeys. The Diablo also gets custom rear set foot pegs and handle bar is positioned lower for a sporty riding stance.
To keep weight as low as possible, they removed all the unnecessary plastic parts and oil tank. The oil is mixed with fuel like old bikes and the empty position of oil tank has been used to store battery, which is hidden with a race number. The custom shop removed stock suspension at rear and replaced it with gas charged suspension from Pulsar.
The stock RX135 produces 14.2 PS of power and 12.3 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5 speed gearbox. The custom shop has given free flow air filter and tuned the carburettor to improve performance. The Diablo also comes with front disc brake by ByBre and a custom exhaust. They are looking to further improve Diablo in future to compete in national level custom build competition.
