A mail from Tiago Owner Prashant Nikam and Rahul Patil that has been addressed to Tata Motors has suddenly caught the attention of many internet users. In this mail, the duo has thanked Tata Motors for building a ‘robust’ car that offers ‘excellent safety features.’ Actually, the two are highly grateful that their Tata Tiago, which suffered collateral damage after meeting with an accident and rolling three times on 13th April, kept the occupants safe.
Clearly gladdened by the high crash safety offered by the Tata Tiago, the duo has promised to stick to the brand forever.
They say,” I would like to thank you again a million times. I assure you I will be forever with TATA team for the endless hours that you have spent working on such safe & robust cars. I hope you will continue to strive for safety forever and touch the lives of the common people like us.”
The Tata Tiago has been the largest selling model from the Maharashtra-based carmaker. In recent times, the company has even introduced the crossover-ish NRG variant and a performance-focused JTP version. Now, the company plans to come up with a mid-cycle facelift of the new model.
The refreshed Tata Tiago will feature minor cosmetic changes, including a reworked front fascia, new alloy wheels, smoked-out headlamps and revised grille. Mechanically, however, the Tiago is likely to remain totally unchanged, which means it will continue to be on sale with a petrol and a diesel engine.
The petrol-powered Tata Tiago is powered by a 1.2-litre DOHC Revotron three-cylinder engine that produces 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and an AMT. The diesel version is powered by the 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel unit that produces 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm at 1,800-3,000 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The petrol version of the Tata Tiago offers ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 23.84 kmpl, while the diesel motor offers 27.28 kmpl. Standard safety features for the refreshed model will include a driver side airbag, reverse parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock, high-speed alert and seatbelt reminder.
