Tata Sales Analysis August 2026 – Punch, Nexon, Tiago, Sierra, Harrier, Altroz

The Punch and Nexon dominated Tata’s August tally as Tiago recorded another notable increase in volumes

Tata garnered total sales of 65,253 units in August 2026 – up 59 per cent from 41,001 units in the same month last year. Its sales also rose 4 per cent from 62,611 units in July. The Punch micro SUV held first place within the portfolio at 21,320 units with Nexon second at 18,431 units and Tiago third at 8,537 units. The trio accounted for a substantial part of Tata’s volumes last month.

The Punch nearly doubled its YoY volume – rising 99 per cent from 10,704 units to 21,320 units. Its August number was almost identical to the 21,313 units recorded in July. The Nexon added 18,431 units – up 32 per cent YoY and 5 per cent on an MoM basis. The two compact SUVs generated 39,751 units between them and represented around 61 per cent of Tata’s total August dispatches.

The Tiago hatch delivered one of the biggest gains in the portfolio with 8,537 units. Its sales increased 63 per cent from 5,250 units in August 2025 and 15 per cent from 7,429 units in July. The recently introduced Sierra range ranked fourth with 5,622 units and its monthly tally dropped 11 per cent from 6,327 units in July. The expansive range with ICE and electric versions helps appeal to a large band of audience.

The Tata Harrier recorded 3,577 units with an increase of 16 per cent YoY and 8 per cent MoM. The larger Safari posted a stronger monthly rise with sales climbing to 1,953 units from 1,453 units in July. It equates to a 34 per cent MoM increase – the highest among the nine Tata models listed. The Safari also grew 31 per cent from its August 2025 volume of 1,489 units. The Altroz was the only Tata model in the table to post a YoY decline.

Its volume figures fell 23 per cent from 3,959 units to 3,047 units. The monthly comparison was positive, however, with the August figure 6 per cent above July’s 2,862 units. The Curvv recorded 1,904 units – up 12 per cent from 1,703 units a year earlier and 12 per cent from 1,697 units in July. Meanwhile, the Tigor closed the ranking with 862 units. The compact sedan grew 7 per cent YoY from 805 units and 14 per cent MoM from 758 units.

Six of the nine models listed registered positive YoY growth with Altroz the sole exception among models that had comparable year-ago figures. The Punch, Nexon and Tiago generated 48,288 units – equal to about 74 per cent of Tata’s August volume. The remaining six models accounted for 16,965 units while Punch alone represented around 32.7 per cent of total sales and Nexon added another 28.2 per cent.
