Tata Nexon facelift will get a redesigned front fascia and rear end while the interior is also expected to gain a host of updates
Tata Motors has been spotted testing the facelifted Nexon for the first time on public roads. The test mule has revealed a number of new details about the upcoming SUV. The Nexon made its market debut in 2017 and it received a major update in early 2020. The sales of the Tata Nexon have been a slow burner but in recent years, its popularity has risen big time.
Currently, the sub-four-metre model is the best-selling SUV in the country. The upcoming Nexon facelift appears to have gained cosmetic revisions inside and out. The exterior comprises a front fascia heavily inspired by the Curvv, which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. New headlamps positioned on the front bumper and connected LED Daytime Running Lights will be the major highlights.
Elsewhere, newly designed alloy wheels, revised LED tail lamps and tailgate, and updated rear bumper are of high possibilities. We do not expect any dimensional changes and the signature coupe-like roofline will be retained. Just like the exterior, the interior could be equipped with an updated centre console and a more advanced features list.
New surface trims and materials could also be added. A larger touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options and new UI and a revised all-digital instrument cluster could be available. As for the performance, the Nexon uses a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine currently. The gasoline unit could make way for a new-gen petrol mill.
The homegrown manufacturer displayed two all-new petrol engines at the biennial motor show and the more powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine could debut in the Curvv next year before making its way to the facelifted Nexon. A six-speed MT and a six-speed AMT will likely continue to be the transmission options.
The updated SUV is expected to go on sale only next year and we will get to know more details about it as the test mules evolve. The features list will also boast multiple airbags and technologies pertaining to comfort, convenience, entertainment and safety.
