The upcoming Tata Tigor will make official market debut on October 10 with exterior updates and a seven-inch touchscreen
Following up from yesterday, Tata Motors has just released a new teaser of the updated Tigor scheduled for launch on October 10. With “Don’t Just Aspire” clipping, it takes a cheeky dig at the newly introduced Ford Aspire facelift today. The teaser video ends with the chrome detailing on the windows.
The Tigor competes against Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and of course the Ford Aspire. From the previous teasers it is evident that the updated sedan gets chrome inserts for headlamps and the tail lamp adorns a clear lens treatment on the top section.
Apart from these changes, the front grille is expected to be minorly tweaked but the significant feature addition can only be found on the interior. The new Tigor, having been spotted testing a few times, gains a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
It instigates an updated design to the centre console for firm integration. The new touchscreen system doubles up as a display for reversing and also supports Bluetooth, radio, Aux and USB along with voice controls, navigation and video playback. The Tata Tigor is retailed in 14 trims with prices starting from Rs. 5.16 lakh and goes up to Rs. 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
No major pricing changes are expected in the updated version. It will continue to remain the same mechanically as the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engines do the propelling duties. The former produces 84 bhp and 114 Nm while the latter makes 69 bhp and 140 Nm.
Both the powertrains are mated to a five-speed manual transmission while an AMT is provided in the petrol as option. The Tata Tigor JTP is expected to go on sale later this year or in early 2019 with an upgraded 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 110 PS and 150 Nm.
