September 2026 was a good month for Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) on the sales front. The company was India’s second-largest carmaker by sales volume last month, with nearly 70,000 cars delivered. According to data published by Autopunditz, TMPV sold 68,810 cars in India in September 2026, registering a 15.3 per cent year-on-year growth. For reference, the company had delivered 59,667 cars in the same month last year.
As in September 2025, the Nexon (incl. Nexon.ev) was the brand’s best-selling Tata model last month. However, it wasn’t ahead of the second-highest-selling car, the Punch (incl. Punch.ev), by a wide margin this time. While the Nexon’s sales declined 15% year-on-year, from 22,573 units to 20,456 units, the Punch’s sales grew 28% year-on-year, from 15,891 units to 20,333 units.
All other Tata cars recorded four- or triple-digit sales in September 2026. The Sierra (incl. Sierra.ev) was the third-highest-selling car, with 7,025 units delivered. The Tiago (incl. Tiago.ev) was next on the list, with 7,043 units sold, albeit with a 15% year-on-year decline (September 2025: 8,322 units).
