Tata Kite 5 hot hatchback is based on the Tata Tiago which has received tremendous response from Indian customers since launched

Tata Kite 5 is the next compact sedan from the Tata Motors. The sub four meter compact sedan was first showcased at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. It is based on the new Tata Tiago hatchback. Therefore the front fascia and side profile looks very much identical. Sans the boot at rear the sedan looks exactly like the Tiago.

Meanwhile IAB has published an imaginative rendering of a hot hatch, which is based on Tata Kite 5. Well, it’s very unusual that a hot hatch is based on a compact sedan. But it’s all on imagination! The rendering makes it look like a premium hatch. Honestly, the rendering looks quite impressive indeed.

The front fascia of the car gets similar silhouette like the Kite 5. The sharp headlamps sport C shaped sleek LED daytime running lights integrated to the clusters. The front grille gets similar smiling appearance with glossy piano black finishing. The front bumper looks aggressive with wide air intake through the centre. Also the fog lamps come with blue accents.

The blue accent is visible at several other places as well, and it enhances the appeal of the car undoubtedly. The side profile sports five spoke blackened alloy wheels which make the car sporty. The wheels get blue trims. Apart from this the side profile looks muscular with flared wheel arches, sharp character lines. The ORVMs come with blue trims and the glass area is blackened out.

The most interesting part at exterior is the rear profile. Despite being based on a compact sedan, there is no extended boot at all. The roof spoiler, wrap around taillights with C shaped LED light, chrome bar joining both the taillights, thick cuts and creases give the rear masculine appeal. The twin round shaped exhaust vents and the roof spoiler get the blue trim. A shark fin antenna is also visible.

The Tata Kite 5 compact sedan is expected to launch during the upcoming festive season. The powertrain of the car will be shared with the Tiago hatchback. A 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine will do duty under the hood of petrol variant. The diesel variant will get a 1.05 litre Revotorq engine. Both the petrol and diesel variants will come with 5 speed manual gearbox as standard, while there would be an AMT gearbox on offer as well.
