Suzuki Launches All-New Spacia Mini-Wagon In Japan

Suzuki Spacia mini-wagon comes equipped with several advanced safety features; gets power from a 658 cc three-cylinder engine

Suzuki has launched the all-new Spacia and Spacia Custom Kei cars in Japan. These mini wagons were displayed at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show in October this year. The Spacia range is priced from JPY 12.74 lakh (Rs. 7.27 lakh). While the Spacia comes with a perfect boxy appearance, the Spacia Custom is a more aggressive version of the regular model.

Speaking about the new Suzuki Spacia, it features large roundish headlamps connected by twin horizontal chrome slats at the front grille. A flat and large front bumper is there with black air intake and a body coloured slat running horizontally through its middle. A short hood is there and moving to the side profile, the boxy look is prominent.

The rear passenger door comes with sliding opening that creates more space for the occupants during getting in and coming out of the cabin. If we speak about the Spacia Custom, it gets a bold design thanks to the distinctive looking front fascia. There are sharp headlamps with projector units and integrated LED daytime running lights.

The Suzuki Spacia Custom sports a large black V shaped front grille. Headlamps and front grille come donning extensive chrome garnishing around them. A chunky front bumper is there with black air intake with the fog lamp housings highlighted with chrome trim. It runs on sporty alloy wheels and at the side profile, there are crisp character lines giving it a sporty look. It dons a black roof as well and door handles too come wearing chrome finishing.

Inside the cabin, new Suzuki Spacia gets a design that reminds us off Maruti Suzuki Ignis. There is a multifunction steering wheel and a compact instrument cluster with a large analog dial and a digital display as well. Centre console features a large touchscreen infotainment system. Dashboard and gearbox console have been designed cleverly to offer s much as possible space to occupants. There is a headup display as well.

Gear shifter console is integrated to the dashboard and Spacia’s cabin offers generous space. On the powertrain front, it draws energy from a 658 cc engine combined with mild-hybrid technology. For transmission duty, it relies on a CVT. There are turbocharged and non-turbocharged engines on offer generating power output of 64 PS and 52 PS respectively. The car is available in both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain layout options. New Spacia and Spacia Custom also sport several advanced safety features like Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS), Backup Brake Support.
