Suzuki Ignis S-Urban Concept has the looks of an off-roading vehicle with all serious intends and purposes

Suzuki’s Indonesian division has made its presence felt at the 2017 edition of Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show with new concepts of existing models. One that really stands above the rest is the S-Urban Concept based on the Ignis urban compact hatchback we very well know about in the domestic market.

Glancing at it you would be forgiven for thinking that it is an off-roading version of the regular variant with its chunky tyres and bigger body extensions. Designed with maneuvering through unpaved rally stages in mind, the S-Urban Concept features several bold elements like the enormous black bumper with plastic cladding protecting the underbody.

The black fenders covering the length of the hatchback, vintage vertical slats adapted from the legendary Jimny, hood scoops, blackened ORVMs and plastic roof rail are some of the signature off-road bits Suzuki has installed on the concept. The two-tone orange and white body colour further accentuates its appeal.

The Suzuki Ignis S-Urban Concept is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 83 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. The transmission option is either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki introduced the Ignis back in January or thus far it has averaged over 4,000 units monthly.
