Find out where the upcoming Gixxer SF 250 stands against one of its toughest rivals the Honda CBR 250R
For those of you who are not aware Suzuki is launching the Gixxer SF 250 in India on 20th May 2019. The motorcycle will rival directly against some renowned 250cc offerings from other manufacturers like Yamaha and Honda. The good news is that the upcoming Gixxer SF 250 is a fully-faired motorcycle.
Initially, we all thought that the motorcycle will get a comfortable rider’s triangle that will help Suzuki to attract the attention of buyers but the leaked brochure tells a different story. The motorcycle will be powered by a newly developed 250cc oil-cooled unit that promises to offer a decent amount of power and torque figures.
That said, we will be comparing the upcoming Gixxer SF 250 with its closest and perhaps the fiercest rival the Honda CBR 250R. We will be comparing both the motorcycles on the basis of their styling, engine, and performance, suspension, brakes, and pricing. So without any further ado let us get straight into the details first.
Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Vs Honda CBR 250R Styling Comparison
The leaked brochure of the upcoming Gixxer SF 250 revealed some interesting facts about the new model. Like we already mentioned earlier the upcoming Gixxer SF 250 will be a full faired offering from the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer. The motorcycle takes its inspiration from the larger GSX-R models.
The front fairing looks clean and sharp, it gets a full LED headlamp towards the front and fairing mounted ORVM’s. The contoured fuel tank adds some muscle to the sportsbike. The Gixxer SF 250 will get a 12-litre fuel tank. The motorcycle also gets a split seat and a double barrel exhaust that actually looks quite sporty. The Gixxer SF 250 also uses 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 110/70 section tyre at the front while the rear unit is 150/60 section tubeless tyres.
There is nothing much to talk about the new Honda CBR 250R. The Indian spec CBR 250R hasn’t changed much since its launch in India. However, Honda decided to give the motorcycle some update back in 2018.
The fully faired offering has received a new full LED headlamp setup towards the front. The motorcycle gets a new decal that also has helped increase the overall appeal. Besides these minor changes, the rest of the motorcycle has remained unchanged though. It still gets the split step-up seats and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
