Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 has been leaked ahead of the debut on May 20 and it is powered by a new single cylinder, oil-cooled engine

Suzuki is going to launch the much awaited new Gixxer SF 250 in India on May 20. The upcoming model has been leaked ahead of the official debut giving us more details. The Gixxer SF 250 design takes inspirations from its bigger fully faired GSX-R siblings, as the company has given sharp looking LED headlamps with integrated day time running lamps in it.

The front fender is also new while the tank has extensions, which gives a muscular look for the Gixxer 250. The fuel tank (12 litres) design also gives the impression of a big bike and the company has given a split seat design. Like most of the performance bikes, the pillion seat is slightly raised but not in the same level as the KTM RC model.

The rear gets slim LED tail lamps along with a tyre hugger and the company has given split handlebar as it is positioned slightly higher. The foot pegs are rear set with low riding position giving a sporty riding stance. The instrument cluster is completely digital like the Gixxer models.

But Suzuki has added some more features to the cluster as it comes with engine temperature, instant fuel economy along with other usual things like speedometer, tachometer, time, gear shift indicator and more. The exhaust design of the Gixxer 250 is similar to the current Gixxer models and the exhaust note is expected to be sporty.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 come with telescopic forks at the front and mono-suspension at the rear, which is tuned for handling and ride quality is also expected to be decent. It is powered by a 249 cc single cylinder oil cooled fuel injected engine, which is good enough to produce 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm at 7,500 rpm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.

It will compete against the likes of Honda CBR250R, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and Yamaha Fazer 25 and is expected to be priced below Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It measures 2,010 mm in length, 740 mm in width, 1,035 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,345 mm with 165 ground clearance and 800 mm seat height.

It tips the weighing scale at 161 kilograms. It rides on 110/70R – 17M/C front radial tubeless and 150/60R – 17M/C rear radial tubeless tyre. A dual-channel ABS system will be offered as standard and disc brakes will be employed on both wheels.
