Suzuki Ciaz with 1242cc Petrol Engine Launched in Thailand

Thai Suzuki Ciaz might come to India for the enthusiasts with CVT in RS/Sports variant.

Suzuki has launched a new variant of Ciaz, but with a cut back petrol motor to qualify as an Eco-auto. The Ciaz is Suzuki’s third Eco-auto in the Thai business sector, taking after the Swift and the Celerio.

As it is delegated an Eco-auto, the Ciaz is powered by a 1.25-litre four-barrel K12B petrol motor which is fit for a maximum power output of 91 hp at 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm of peak torque at 4,800 rpm. This motor is offered with a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. With the 1.25L motor, the kerb weight of the Ciaz drops to just 960 kg, which results in the power-to-weight being on the better side of things. The sedan will deliver a fuel efficiency of at least 20 kmpl.

Elements on the Thai Ciaz incorporate an automatic AC, keyless entry, push button start, a Bluetooth infotainment framework, steering mounted controls, ABS with EBD and dual front airbags. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels. Cosmetically, it looks bog similar to its regular counterpart.

The Ciaz will be fabricated at Suzuki’s Rayong plant, and will likewise be sent out to other ASIAN markets. Together with the Swift and Celerio, the Ciaz is expected to drive Suzuki Motor Thailand’s exports by 285 percent this year which would make the tally go up to 40,000 units/annum. In the domestic market, the Suzuki Motor Thailand plans to offer 9,000 units of the car in its first year.

The length of the car stands same at 4,490mm, the width is 1,730mm, the height is 1,475mm and the wheelbase is 2,650mm. The Thai Suzuki Ciaz has been priced between 484,000 to 625,000 THB (roughly Rs 9.04 – 11.67 lakhs). There are hardly any chances that this one would make its way to India but then you never know Suzuki might just bring it to India for the enthusiasts with CVT in RS/Sports variant.
