SsangYong has unveiled its latest pickup truck at the ongoing 2018 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. The images of the pickup truck christened as ‘SsangYong Rexton Sports’ had emerged online a few months back giving us a clear view of the vehicle. With its arrival, SsangYong could potentially discontinue the Korando Sports but no such confirmation are made yet.
It is also called as “Musso” in Europe and after greeting spectators at the Swiss motor show, it will go on sale in mid-2018. It looks very muscular and stylish at the same time. There is a large hexagonal front grille with a sleek horizontal chrome garnished slat. The radiator grille comes flanked by sharp swept back headlamps sporting projector units and integrated LED daytime running lights.

On the powertrain front, SsangYong Rexton Sports draws energy from a 2.2-litre e-XDi220 LET diesel engine that is capable of churning out 187 PS of peak power and around 420 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options for the vehicle include a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic unit. The vehicle also receives a part 4WD system.
The interior of the five-seater pickup comprises an 8.0-inch touchscreen present in the middle with radio, Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity as Apple Carplay and Android Auto are restricted to range-topping models. At regular speeds, the front axle decouples making the power being sent only to rear wheels and the torque will be delivered to the front axle only if needed.
