Mahindra XUV700 is a rebadged version of the SsangYong Rexton; to become the flagship SUV when it goes on sale later this year
Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most awaited cars in the Indian market and now the homegrown auto major has showcased this model at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, where the SsangYong Rexton rebadged SUV has grabbed everyone’s attention.
It could be called in a different name too like Mahindra Rexton upon launch but so far no official confirmation has been made yet. As the Mahindra XUV700 has made its global debut here, we can expect it to go on sale soon.

As we already said, the SUV comes based on the SsangYong Rexton’s platform as its a rebadged version. It will challenge rivals like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the premium SUV segment.

Mahindra XUV700 gets an all-new 2.0-litre petrol engine that has been jointly developed by Mahindra and SsangYong. It can kick out 220 bhp of peak power and 225 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, there is a 2.2-litre e-XDi220 LET diesel engine that kicks out 185 bhp of peak power and 420 Nm of peak torque.
This diesel engine works under the hood of the present SsangYong Rexton as well. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic unit, while the SUV gets both 2WD and AWD drivetrain layout options.

Dimensionally, Mahindra XUV700 comes measuring 4,850 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height and it also has a wheelbase of 2,865 mm. A 200 mm of ground clearance will make sure the SUV is able to take tough challenge.
Mahindra XUV700 Exterior
Mahindra XUV700 gets a stylish and tough look. The SUV is based on a lightweight yet sturdy platform sourced from SsangYong Rexton. It gets a hexagonal front grille with chrome finish. The grille is flanked by twin-barrel projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. A muscular front bumper with large black central air intake and a thick skid plate is there, while the fog lamps sit neatly at both ends adding further style to the SUV’s front fascia.
It runs on large and bold looking alloy wheels. The black cladding at side profile enhances boldness of the car, while the SUV also features sleek character lines. There are turn indicator integrated ORVMs, black glass area with chrome trim and sporty roof rail as well. The SUV also features muscular protruding fenders.
At the back, the SUV features LED taillights, roof spoiler and a sculpted tailgate. A chunky bumper along with thick skid plate enhances its appeal further. So far, the car looks pretty bold and attractive from every angle and it also boasts a strong road presence as well.

Inside the cabin too, Mahindra XUV700 will get a stylish and premium feel thanks to the design and features. It gets multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster. A large touchscreen infotainment system is there at centre console with ergonomic positioning to deliver a better view to the driver.
Seats and upholstery come wrapped with upmarket quality materials. In terms of space and comfort too the XUV700 comes attractive. Speaking about safety features, it gets advanced protective measures.
