Even the top-selling sedans are subjected to big discounts in April 2019 and here we have listed all of them
In the month of April 2019, automobile manufacturers are offering huge discounts of sedans. The popularity of the sedan segment across different price brackets has gone down compared to previous years due to the increasing craze for SUVs and crossovers. Nevertheless, some of the top-selling models are still going strong.
Honda relies on sedans for garnering big volumes than any other car brand in India and the City C-segment sedan has struggled to maintain consistency recently. It is offered with comprehensive first-year insurance and 20,000 exchange bonus this year. The City’s main rival Ciaz gets Rs. 15,000 cash discount, Rs. 25,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 10,000 corporate discount taking the tally to Rs. 50,000.
With Rs. 30,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 20,000 corporate discount, another C-segment sedan, the Verna, also comes with Rs. 50,000 total discount. The 2019 MY Toyota Yaris, on the other hand, gets Rs. 30,000 cash and additional corporate discounts and it could be in a move to slightly revive the underwhelming sales figures.

The country’s best-selling sedan, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, cannot be ruled out from offering good discounts either as Rs. 20,000 cash and Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus take the tally to Rs. 40,000 in April 2019. Volkswagen’s long-serving Vento features a massive Rs. 1.15 lakh total offer courtesy of Rs. 50,000 cash discount, Rs. 40,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 25,000 corporate discount.
Honda’s top-selling second generation Amaze makes do with warranty cover for five years and three-year service maintenance package. Its rival Hyundai Xcent is sold with a comprehensive discount of Rs. 80,000 (Rs. 50,000 cash discount and Rs. 30,000 exchange). The recently launched Aspire facelift goes through Rs. 35,000 cash discount and Rs. 15,000 exchange bonus.
Volkswagen has big plans under the India 2.0 project with Skoda as new products based on heavily localised MQB A0 IN platform are waiting in the pipeline from next year. However, until then, the German carmaker has to rely on the existing vehicles and the India-specific Ameo faces Rs. 30,000 cash discount and Rs. 30,000 exchange bonus along with corporate offer this month.
