Roewe E RX5 Spied Testing In India

Roewe E RX5 electric SUV features 48.3 kWh battery and the driving range is 320 km; it can be further expanded to 425 km by driving consistently at 60 kmph

MG Motor has already announced its plant to enter Indian market last year. The company is going to spent Rs. 5000 crore in next six years in India as they plan to build its entire portfolio of vehicles which include EVs at their upcoming plant in Halol, Gujarat.

MG Motor which is owned by SAIC Motor Corp of China is one of the leading EV manufacturers in the world and the company has spent more than $3 billion for developing dense batteries, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell vehicles and battery EVs.

Roewe-E-RX5-SUVNow the company has started testing EVs in India, Currently two models are tested in India and they are Roewe E RX5 SUV and SAIC E100 mini car. The Roewe E RX5 luxury SUV has been spied near Halol in Gujarat and the company has said that they want to see the range in Indian driving conditions and want to test these vehicles in different climate condition.

If the test is a success then they will expand the testing to different parts of the country. Roewe is a sub-brand of SAIC and it’s a luxury car maker in China. The E RX5 is its fully electric SUV which was revealed in 2016 and it is powered by electric motors producing 113 hp of power and 255 Nm of torque.

Roewe-E-RX5-SUV-1Roewe has given 48.3 kWh battery and the range is 320 km and it can be further expanded to 425 km by driving consistently at 60 kmph. The top speed of E RX5 suv is 135 kmph. The battery can be charged upto 80% in 40 minutes using fast charger and full charge takes 7 hours with normal charger.

SAIC E100 is a small city car which is powered by a single electric motor producing 38 hp of power and 110 Nm of torque. The top speed of E100 is 100 kph and it can be fully charged in 7.5 hours using standard charger and it doesn’t have support for fast charger.

Roewe-E-RX5-SUV-iNTERIORWe can expect MG to introduce these models in India under their brand. Before introducing EVs, MG is going to introduce hatchback and sedan in India.
