Royal Enfield has officially introduced machined alloy wheel kit in India and it is priced at Rs. 10,000. The alloy wheel kit is available for four models – Classic 350 (BSIV), Classic 500 (BSIV), Thunderbird X 350 cc (BSIV) and Thunderbird X 500 cc (BSIV). The company is also offering 2 years of warranty for the alloy Wheels kit.
The design of alloy wheels is similar to the one offered with the Thunderbird X series and these are 9-spoke units. The alloy Wheel kit is part of the long list of accessories already available for the Classic and Thunderbird series. Royal Enfield is also planning to introduce alloy wheels on the recently launched 650 Twins.
The black finished machined alloy wheels give a new character for the Classic series and it is so popular among customers as we have seen several customers opting for aftermarket units. The introduction of alloy wheels as part of the official accessories is a good decision as modifications have been completely banned in Kerala.
Both Classic and Thunderbird series come with same wheel size as 19-inch with 90/90 section tyre at the front and 18-inch wheels with 120/80 section tyre at the rear. The introduction of alloy wheels doesn’t affect performance and the impact on handling is also minor. The fuel efficiency is also expected to be the same as the earlier model.
The Classic 500 and Thunderbird 500 are powered by same 499 cc single cylinder engine with 27.2 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the braking performance comes from 280 mm disc at the front and 240 mm at the rear. The company offers dual-channel ABS braking system as standard.
The Classic 350 and Thunderbird 350 are powered by 346 cc single cylinder engine producing 19.8 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine is also mated to a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes are same as 500 cc model with dual-channel ABS. The alloy wheel kit is available across the country.
