If you love minimal design approach and solid colours then the Interceptor 650’s Baker Express will be the right colour option for you

Royal Enfield launched the 650 Twins on 14th November 2018 in India. The 650 twins consist of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The Interceptor 650 is available in 6 colour options, while the Continental GT 650 is available in 5 colour options. RE had already introduced all the colour options in India but the Interceptor 650 Baker Express deliveries have only begun recently.

The Baker Express is a dual tone colour combination finished in white and red. The main highlight of this colour is the fuel tank which has been finished in a shade of white and a red straight line running towards the bottom of the tank. The Baker Express colour actually helps resemble an old school motorcycle.

It will definitely be a hit amongst the crowd, keeping in mind the love of the old school motorcycles in India. The RE Interceptor 650 is powered by an all-new 648cc, air-cooled, SOHC, fuel-injected, parallel-twin motor churning out 47hp of peak power at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm.

The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox which also gets a slip-assist clutch as standard. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 13.4 Litres. The Continental GT 650, on the other hand, has a fuel tank capacity of only 12.5 Litres.

For those of you who are still not aware the RE Interceptor 650 is a retro roadster which has a comfortable and upright riding stance. Whereas the Continental GT 650 carries forward the design language of the Continental GT 535 (now discontinued). The Interceptor 650 tips a scale of 202 Kilograms whereas the café racer is lighter by almost 4 kilograms (198 kilograms).

Both the 650 twins do not have any direct rival in the Indian market currently. However, they are priced in between the popular KTM Duke 390, recently launched Honda CB300R and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The prices for the base Interceptor 650 start at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the base Continental GT 650 carries a price tag of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
