Renault Duster Extreme Concept Unveiled at 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show

Renault Duster Extreme Concept is based on the standard Duster AWD, designed by Renault Design Latin America (RDAL)

French automaker Renault has unveiled the Duster Extreme Concept at 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil. The car comes based on standard Renault Duster AWD, but shows enhanced all-terrain capability with proper modification. The concept model has been designed by the Renault Design Latin America (RDAL), specially for the ongoing auto event.

The Renault Duster Extreme Concept comes with large headlamps with red trims, a redesigned muscular front bumper with tow hooks and skid plate. It also gets flared fenders, side stairs, roof-rack and side-rack with LED light bars. The car runs on black alloy wheels wrapped in thick and wide off-road worthy tyres, while the side body decals are also visible. Rear bumper also comes redesigned and looks bold. The car is painted in grey and the accessories sport red paint, which altogether give the car a very sporty look.

Interior of the Renault Duster Extreme Concept has been designed to deliver an adventurous and sporty vibe. It gets a black interior theme with red accents on dashboard and seats. The round AC vents get silver detailing, while dashboard features an EXTREME lettering as well. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel sports 4WD lettering, while instrument cluster appears with round analog dials and a digital MID. A touchscreen infotainment system at centre console enhances the car’s appeal further.

Power source for the Renault Duster Extreme Concept is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, flex-fuel engine seen working in Brazilian regular Duster. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission in the standard model, but the concept model comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

This engine is capable to churn out 143 hp of peak power at 5,750 rpm and 198 Nm of peak torque running on petrol. It generates 148 hp of peak power at 5,750 rpm and 205 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm, while running on ethanol. The Renault Duster Extreme Concept gets raised suspension which makes it well capable to take on rough terrains easily.
