Royal Enfield is offering 9-spoke alloy wheels as an accessory for the Classic 350 and 500; priced at Rs. 10,500 for a pair (inclusive of fitment charges)
Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been spotted with alloy wheels for the first time and it is part of the accessories for the Classic series. The alloy wheels cost Rs. 10,500 for a pair and it includes fitting charges. The 9-spoke alloy wheels are the same unit, which is offered on the Thunderbird X Series as all these motorcycles have same wheel size.
Everyone was expecting the company to offer 650 Twins with alloy wheels and instead Royal Enfield introduced it for the Classic series as it is the best selling model of the company in India. According to the dealership, Royal Enfield is working on alloy wheels for the 650 Twins and it is likely to be offered in coming months as the website has already mentioned it as coming soon.
The 650 Twins and Classic series has same 18-inch wheels, so the company just need to work on front wheels only. Even though spoke wheels are strong they are not aesthetically pleasing which is why most of the modern bikes come with alloy wheels and it has another advantage as puncture repairing is also much easier with it.
The Classic 350 rides on 90/90 section tyre at the front with a 19-inch wheel and 110/90 section tyre at rear with an 18-inch wheel while the Classic 500 gets 120/80 section tyre. The 650 Twins might get a new design for the alloy wheels instead of these same ones and it is likely to be priced around Rs. 12,000.
Recently the company has also introduced dual-channel ABS braking system with the Classic 350 and 500 series as all bikes above 125 cc must come with ABS system as standard. Both these motorcycles also come with same 280 mm disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at front and dual-shocks at the rear.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 is powered by 346 cc single cylinder engine producing 19.8 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm while the Classic 500 gets its power from 499 cc engine with 27.2 bhp of power and maximum torque of 41.3 Nm. These engines are mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Classic 350 price starts at Rs. 1.47 lakh and Rs. 1.84 lakh for Classic 500.
