Toyota hosted the debut of the bZ3C and bZ3X at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show in China following their showcase in their conceptual form at the same event in 2023. The production-spec bZ3C reminisces the bZ Sport Crossover Concept while the bZ FlexSpace Concept heavily influences the bZ3X. They will be launched in China within the next twelve months.

The Japanese auto major has not revealed technical details about the electrified duo yet. The Toyota bZ3C has come about in partnership with Toyota’s Intelligent ElectroMobility R&D Center in Tokyo, Chinese EV makers BYD and FAW. The bZ3X boasts modern design elements characterised by a shut-off front grille, and horizontal light bars at the front and rear.

It gets a dual-tone theme with black finished pillars and roof, smart door handles that seamlessly integrate with the side bodywork, two-tone machined alloy wheels and a large boot opening. Both EVs are certainly inspired by the latest Prius and bZ4X sold in the international markets and the clean overall profile adds to the mature crossover look of the bZ3X.

The interior of the Toyota bZ3X features a large-sized touchscreen infotainment screen sitting in the middle along with an all-digital instrument console. Just like the exterior, the cabin has a minimalist look, accentuated by a large glass roof, and a pleasing light theme. In comparison, the Toyota bZ3X has bigger proportions than the bZ3C and the latter is more sportier.

Both the Toyota bZ3C and bZ3X will gain the latest driver-assistive systems according to Toyota. While the former will target Gen Z customers, the latter will appeal to family-based buyers wanting to own a spacious SUV with zero tailpipe emissions. The bZ3X has been jointly developed by Guangzhou Automobile Group, GAC Toyota Motor and Toyota’s IEM.

The duo is exclusively made for the Chinese market and thus, they may not see the light in developed markets across the globe. Toyota is developing a brand new electric SUV for India and it will be introduced in the second half of 2025. It will be based on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and will be equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack, capable of around 550 km range.
