Production of the 2019 Suzuki Vitara has commenced in Hungary ahead of the updated SUV’s launch in Europe
Suzuki has started the production of the 2019 Suzuki Vitara facelift at its production facility in Hungary. The updated small SUV carries several minor updates in aspects of its styling, specifications and features.
The performance upgrades for the exterior comprise a new new front grille and an updated bumper at the front-end, new 17-inch alloy wheels in the side profile, and updated tail lamps with LED elements at the rear. The 2019 MarutiVitara is available with two new colour options: Solar Yellow Pearl Metallic and Blue Metallic.
On the inside, the top cover of the instrument panel gets a soft-touch material while the cluster itself gets a 4.2-inch colour LCD display. The dashboard features a new silver trim. The Suzuki Vitara is no longer available with the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Instead, it’s now on sale with 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engines that output 111 PS-170 Nm and 140 PS-220 Nm respectively.
In terms of safety, the company has replaced the Radar Brake Support (RBS) for rear parking with a Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) feature that’s more advanced. It uses a monocular camera and a laser sensor to gauge if there’s any obstacle, like a pedestrian or some other vehicle, as the SUV is reversing.
The 2019 Suzuki Vitara also gets Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Traffic Sign recognition, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. In Hungary, prices of the 2019 Suzuki Vitara facelift start at 48,80,000 Hungarian forint.
While the current generation Suzuki Vitara has been speculated to be India-bound for a long time now, till now there has been no confirmation of it being India-bound by the company. If launched here, the small SUV can become a strong rival to the Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Nissan Kicks. It will also become a perfect upgrade for many MarutiVitaraBrezza owners.
