Hyundai Palisade SUV Revealed

Hyundai Palisade is the all-new three-row flagship SUV targetting family audience with room for eight occupants

Hyundai has been a versatile player by having presence in volume as well as premium segments in the international markets. In India, it is no different as the likes of affordable Santro, Grand i10 and Elite i20 are complemented by premium Creta SUV in terms of garnering volumes.

The South Korean manufacturer has constantly been upgrading its SUV lineup globally as the unrelenting customer preference for SUVs and crossovers has entailed in the brand reinforcing its strategy towards high riding vehicles. The latest move is the addition of a brand new model, which has the largest footprint for any Hyundai SUV worldwide.

Having made its world debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Palisade SUV is based on the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept and for families needing plenty of room inside the cabin, it is a perfect fit. The three rows of seating can accommodate eight and all the space, let alone the large cargo compartment, is complemented by an exterior that avails good road presence with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED turn indicators.

The rear seat passengers also have a good view of the road due to the panoramic rear glass and cutaway roof. In order to have optimised aerodynamics, Hyundai has added special underbody air deflectors to channel air efficiently. The entry-level model gets cloth seating while leather upholstery with quilted Nappa arrangement is available only in top-end variants.

The middle row can be moved to and fro with one touch function for easy access to the third row, which in turn can be power folded and unfolded. It can also be reclined to further expand the boot space. The full-sized SUV comes with the option of fitting second-row captain seats with ventilated surfaces for increased comfort.

Seven USB ports are standard across the Palisade’s range – one outlet for every seat. The conversation mode on rear view mirror will help the driver to easily see the rear passengers and communicate with them through a new technology. For the ease of driver and to not take attention away from the road, a heads up display is projected on to the windscreen.

Moreover, Hyundai offers SamrtSense suite of safety and driver assistive technologies as standard and the touchscreen infotainment system allows for satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with doubling up as reverse camera display with dynamic guides. The flagship Hyundai Palisade SUV will go on sale in foreign markets in 2019 and it will spawn a Kia cousin in the form of Telluride.
