Maruti Vitara Brezza & Hyundai Creta Are Only Cars With Zero Discounts

Apart from both the two top-selling SUVs, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 have the lowest discounts

Ahead of the festive season, it is imperative for carmakers to bombard the customers with a huge leap of offers as positive sentiments run on full swing across the board to actually buy the vehicle rather than just looking over it. Some nameplates would contravene from this list due to their overwhelming popularity and manufacturers content with their selling figures, apart from several internal reasons.

With sales of SUVs and crossovers took to newer heights in recent years, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are capitalising the momentum and do not offer their best-selling SUVs with any sort of discounts. The Vitara Brezza has been reigning supreme for well over two years and is the most sold SUV in the country almost every month.

Despite losing its status at the top of the sales charts to Vitara Brezza, Hyundai is unfazed as the Creta is the best-seller in its segment that will see increased competition in the next two years. Moreover, the Creta is positioned a notch above the Vitara Brezza with average monthly sales of over 10,000 units.

The Creta received a facelift earlier this year with cosmetic revisions and changes to the equipment level while Vitara Brezza, on the other hand, was adorned with more chrome treated exterior, black interior theme, glossy black wheels, AGS (Auto Gear Shift) transmission and new Orange colour scheme with white roof as part of its MY2018 update.

The Korean SUV is retailed in 13 variants and is powered by one petrol and two diesel engine options. The Vitara Brezza though uses a single diesel engine with manual and AMT choices, and it became the fastest selling SUV to reach three lakh unit sales in just 28 months, since the initial launch in March 2016.

The more premium Creta took around three years to achieve the same feat and will have a potent rival from sister brand Kia by mid-2019. With Tata Harrier’s market entry in early 2019 and MG targetting the same space, the compact SUV segment will be all bunched up and spoilt for choices. Along with both these SUV’s, Hyundai Elite has only exchange bonus discount worth Rs.20,000 and segment leader Maruti Baleno has corporate discount worth Rs.7000.
