Nissan Terrano SPORT comes equipped with a slew of new features to distinguish itself from the regular model

Nissan India has today announced the launch of a special edition version of its Terrano SUV. Christened the Terrano SPORT, it comes equipped with a slew of new features to distinguish itself from the regular model. The Nissan Terrano SPORT comprises of sport body decals complementing the all-black roof wrap while the black wrapped pillars and new wheel arch claddings have infused a fresh design theme into the rather ageing SUV.

The Japanese manufacturer has also added new stripes that are emblazoned on the SUV’s bonnet structure, fenders, rear bumper, and front and rear panels as well. Stepping inside the cabinm, the limited edition adorns a new crimson-stitched seat covers and floor mats with crimson highlights.

Nissan Terrano_SPORT_InteriorNissan is charging Rs. 12,22,260 (ex-showroom) for the Terrano SPORT special edition and the company believes the new addition complements the adventurous lifestyle of the SUV. Nissan’s association with sporting events has led to the brand entering an eight year contract with ICC (International Cricket Council) till 2023 as the Terrano SPORT celebrates people trying to persevere in their life or in sports.

The Nissan Terrano SPORT edition comes fitted with NissanConnect, an integrated information and communication platform using customer’s smartphone for enhanced driving experience. The intelligent mobility package has over 50 features and 3 years of free services providing claimed best-in-class safety, security and convenience.

Some of the notable features are geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert, nearby pit stops, Locate My Car and Share My Car Location. The cabin possesses two-tone theme along with seven-inch touchscreen navigation, steering wheel with mounted audio/phone controls, touch lane change indicator; dual airbags; ABS and EBD with Brake Assists, DRLs, etc.

As for the powertrain, the Nissan Terrano SPORT uses same engine options from standard model: a 1.6 petrol and a 1.5 diesel in two states of tune. The 1.6-litre K4M petrol engine produces 102 bhp at 5,850 rpm and 145 Nm at 3,750 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed manual with claimed fuel economy of 13.2 kmpl. The 1.5-litre dCI K9K diesel motor, on the other hand, makes 84 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 200 Nm at 1,900 rpm.

Connected to a five-speed manual gearbox, it has a claimed milerage of 20.5 kmpl. The same engine in its higher state of tune develops 108 bhp at 3,900 rpm and 248 Nm at 2,250 rpm. It is coupled with a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic with computer-controlled gearshifts.
