Nissan Partners with ICC to Sponsor Global Cricket Events for 8 years as the contract is set till the year 2023. A lot of sub-events are line up as well that are connected to the ICC
Nissan in India is known to doing pretty much out of the box stuff. Calling celebrities to launch car variants or doing partnership with other media outlets and much more. However, this time, the partnership is even bigger. Nissan has agreed to a major eight-year deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) that further strengthens its ties with global sport, something that we have seen in the past already.
The agreement, between these two giants, runs through 2023, as confirms Nissan itself a global sponsor of cricket’s international tournaments, including the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and ICC World Twenty20, as well as Under 19 and Women’s Cricket and qualifying events for full 8 years.
The ICC partnership will be a significant expansion of Nissan’s ongoing international sports sponsorship strategy. It allows the Japanese carmaker to bring its innovative and fan-focused approach to sport to millions of cricket-lovers around the world. Something that brand is known for which have seen with its partners as well such as Renault and Mercedes join ventures.
Nissan says their goal is to achieve 5% market share in India by 2020 and they have already invested a huge amount to build one of our most advanced plants and three global R&D centres, here in India. Nissan says they are confident and want repeat the same success in India that they have in Europe, China, the US, Japan and other markets.
Nissan is excited to bring the passion and unique approach to cricket that India has, like the rest of the world and is looking forward to the highly awaited and entertaining ICC World Twenty20 in India, that will happen with in 2016, that would be first time Nissan will come to Indian television screens in full form. Hope this helps the brand get some traction despite the fact they have potent cars in their portfolio.
