Nissan Motor India closed September 2026 with total wholesales of 10,025 units – split between 3,300 domestic units and 6,725 exports. Domestic wholesales doubled from 1,652 units in September 2025 with an increase of 1,648 units. Exports accounted for about 67 per cent of Nissan’s total monthly volume and crossed twice its domestic tally.
In a similar fashion, Renault India reported 3,399 domestic wholesales in September – up 20 per cent from August 2026. Its larger gain came across the January to September period when local sales reached 35,378 units as against 25,886 units during the same nine months of 2025. Renault added 9,492 units on a YoY basis – equal to an increase of 36.6 per cent.
Nissan’s export tally took its September total above 10,000 units and the domestic sales were concentrated on the recently introduced Tekton midsize SUV, Magnite compact SUV and Gravite compact MPV. However, the Tekton has been modestly received in India in its initial months considering its volume tally since it went on sale in early July.

Renault added the turbocharged 1.0L engine to the Triber’s fleet last month. Prices start at Rs. 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom) and the seven-seater introduces the Renault Group Entry Platform to India. Its turbo mill is good enough to produce around 100 PS. Renault will also introduce the Duster E-Tech 160 on October 17, 2026. It will become the company’s first hybrid powertrain for India and it could help garner more attention towards the revived nameplate.
Export activity also returned to Renault’s monthly business after the company resumed shipments to Sri Lanka through AMW Motors. The first consignment consisted of 100 vehicles across the Triber, Kwid and Kiger and departed from Chennai. Sri Lanka takes Renault India’s international export footprint to 16 countries.
