The interior of next-generation Grand i10 spotted for the first time and the design took inspirations from i30

Hyundai has begun work on the third generation of Grand i10 in India and the new model is going to be a big leap in all areas. The interior of the new Grand i10 has been spotted for the first time and the design is completely different from the current model. The hatchback took inspirations from bigger models like new i30.

The instrument cluster design is similar to the one on i20 with a tachometer on left and speedometer on right with a MID screen in the middle. The fuel metre is placed below speedometer and engine temperature below tachometer. The new model might get a distance to empty and range indicator.

The touchscreen infotainment system is now placed on the top of dashboard-like those on i30 instead of current integrated unit. Hyundai will give both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity options along with mirror link. The AC controls are placed below it and we can expect USB charging ports also.

Hyundai has given three spoke multi-function steering wheel and the headrest on front seats appears to be the same integrated unit from the current model.  There were two different variants on the test as the one which comes with all the bells and whistles, while the lower model doesn’t get expensive features like the touch screen and climate control.

The integrated blinkers on mirrors have been retained and diamond cut alloy wheels will get a new design. We can expect quality to improve compared to the current model and the company will add more features. Hyundai has also increased the dimensions of the new model and it will improve space on the interior.

The Grand i10 is expected to retain the current 1.2 L Kappa and 1.2 L CRDi units, but the company will make some changes to these engines to meet BSVI emission norms. The upcoming hatchback will be the second model from Hyundai to get AMT transmission and it will also come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. We can expect the launch of a new model to take place during the festival season of 2019.
